Diving Australia earns Bronze Status with Pride in Sport

Diving Australia (DA) is pleased to announce it has been granted bronze level status from Pride In Sport, after successfully navigating and fulfilling the requirements set in the Pride In Sport Index (PSI).

DA is committed to providing a safe, fun and inclusive environment for everyone and first became a Pride in Sport member in 2013.

Through this recent process, (DA) has created a dedicated inclusion web page featuring a suite of resources for all members and video footage that speaks to this subject.

Pride in Sport National Program Manager Beau Newell said,

“We extend a congratulations to Diving Australia for attaining bronze tier status in this year's Pride in Sport Index. This accomplishment showcases its continued commitment to fostering greater inclusion and diversity, benefiting LGBTQ+ players, volunteers, fans, and all individuals associated with the sport.

"By attaining this level of recognition, Diving Australia underscores its dedication to embracing diversity, thereby contributing to the creation of a more inclusive environment not only for its supporters, athletes, volunteers, and personnel, but for everyone.”

Diving Australia CEO Alex Newton said,

“Diving Australia has been proud members of Pride In Sport for several years and has benefitted greatly from the support and education they provide. However, for 2024, we committed to not just being members, but achieving the standards as set out by the Pride In Sport Index (PSI). I’m delighted that we have officially qualified as a bronze tier organisation this year, and while we understand that our work is far from over in this space, we are already planning the evolution of our inclusion and diversity practices to align with further recognition within the PSI for next year.”
