Performance Support

Performance Support is the coordinated, athlete‑centred system that helps divers and coaches perform at their best -consistently, sustainably, and when it matters most.

Performance support typically draws from several specialist areas, working together around the athlete and coach, including: doctors, physiotherapists, psychologists, strength & conditioning practitioners, dieticians, athlete wellbeing & education practitioners, and sports scientists.

Below are variety of topics and resources for athletes, parents and guardians, and coaches.

Diving Australia recognises concussion as a serious medical issue with potentially significant short- and long-term consequences. Diving Australia recognises that a proactive approach to concussion management not only protects athlete health but preserves the integrity and spirit of the sport, because of this Diving Australia has developed a diving specific Concussion Policy.

The Concussion Policy outlines Diving Australia ’s approach to the recognition, management and prevention of concussion in all sanctioned training and competition environments.

Disordered eating and eating disorders are complex conditions that can negatively affect an athlete’s physical and mental health, as well as performance.

They can occur in any athlete, across any sport and at any time, regardless of gender, age, body size, culture, socio-economic background, or level of ability.

Diving, along with other aesthetically judged sports such as rhythmic and artistic gymnastics, is considered a high-risk sport for the development of disordered eating and eating disorders.

Diving Australia has developed a range of resources and online modules to educate the entire diving community, including athletes, coaches and support staff, parents, and technical officials.
