Requesting a Special Consideration form

Athletes wishing to apply for special consideration should first request the form via the orange button below. Once the requst has been received, you should receive a form via adobe sign within 3 businesss days of the request. 

Special Consideration Application Form

Listed below are the application forms available:

National Event Special Consideration:

Athletes who have not achieved National Qualifying Standards and are seeking special consideration to compete at a Open or Junior National Champtionshpn due to exceptional circumstances must submit this form, along with required supporting evidence no later than 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the National Event. This form should be completed with the support of the relevant coach. For divers under the age of 18, the form must be completed by a Parent/Guardian.

The PLT will consider the following when reviewing Special Consideration requests

• Performances within the last 12 months;
• The circumstances of the application;
• Supporting evidence, such as medical certificates and;
• Athlete return to sport plan
• Any other relevant information

Upon receipt, the Diving Australia Performance Leadership Team (PLT) will meet to review the application. Athletes and coaches will be advised of the outcome in writing.

National Squads & Categorisation Special Consideration

Athletes seeking special consideration for selection to a National Squad and Categorisation due to exceptional circumstances must submit this form, along with required supporting evidence. This form should be completed with the support of the relevant coach. For divers under the age of 18, the form must be completed by a Parent/Guardian.

This form must be submitted prior to the commencement of the competition that was targeted to achieve Squad selection & Categorisation if the exceptional circumstances arose before the event or within 24 hours of the competition if they arose during the event.

The PLT will consider the following when reviewing Special Consideration requests

• Your performance within the last 12 months;
• The circumstances of the event;
• Your supporting evidence, such as medical certificates and;
• Your return to sport plan
• Attendance and perforamnce at the ADF Roadshow (where relevent)
• Any other relevant information
  

Upon receipt of the application, the Diving Australia Performance Leadership Team (PLT) will meet to review the application. Athletes and coaches will be advised of the outcome once the selections & categorisations have been endorsed by the AIS.

Additional Note for National Talent & Junior Squads

For submissions relating to the National Talent & Junior Squads divers may be invited to the ADF Roadshow as part of the assesment process. 

Interational Event Special Consideration:

Athletes seeking special consideration for selection to an International event due to exceptional circumstances must submit this form, along with required supporting evidence,submitting it prior to the event if the circumstances occurred beforehand, or within 24 hours if they occurred during the competition.This form should be completed with the support of the relevant coach. For divers under the age of 18, the form must be completed by a Parent/Guardian.

The PLT will consider the following when reviewing Special Consideration requests

• Your performance within the last 12 months;
• The circumstances of the event;
• Your supporting evidence, such as medical certificates and;
• Your athlete return to sport plan
• Any other relevant information
