A new National Event for young divers

2026 marks the launch of the inaugural Australian National Skills Championships. This event has a new exciting format, designed to strengthen the foundational technical and physical skills of divers aged 13 and under. Formerly known as the National Skills Final, the re-designed Championships place a greater emphasis on participation, progression, and long-term development across multiple pathways in this exciting sport. 

New Event Formats and Exciting Additions

The newly designed event includes both dryland and water-based skills, and divers can choose to participate in dryland only, water only, or in both components. In addition to the individual skills events, the Championships will now feature a Synchronised Event and a Team Event. Divers will be allocated into synchro pairings and team groups on the day of competition, creating a fun, inclusive, and engaging element to the Championships.
