Australia’s biggest ever Age Champs concludes

Published Fri 25 Apr 2025

More than 250 competitors from across Australia, and the Tasman, flocked to the Gold Coast for five days of competition and celebration during the 2025 Australian Diving Age Championships.

From the young to the young at heart, divers across nine individual age groups put on an extraordinary showcase of talent as they vied for the title of Australian Champion in their various age groups.

For Diving Australia’s General Manager of Participation and Sports Development, David Hunsdale, the event's success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the event delivery team and volunteers.

“We're absolutely thrilled with how the 2025 Age National Championships have gone,” said David.

“Stunning weather, terrific diving, and every single member who travelled to the Gold Coast helped create a fantastic atmosphere.

“Our sport is built on the strength of our volunteers, coaches and athletes, and it was such a pleasure to have them all with us for the week. Without our volunteers, these events just wouldn't be possible.”

Not only were individual medals up for grabs, but State and club pride was on the line as divers and teams battled it out in the State Team Challenge event, in addition to the coveted prize of ‘State of the Championships’ and ‘Club of the Championships’.

This year, it was New South Wales who won the State Team Challenge, with NSW also picking up State of the Championships, and Chandler Diving Club from Queensland who took out Club of the Championships.
