AUSTRALIA'S TOP DIVERS PREPARE FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Published Fri 11 Jul 2025
A 14-strong Australian Diving Team blending Olympic experience with future potential will head to Singapore next week looking to make their mark at the World Aquatics Championships.
Leading the team are Paris 24 Olympic silver medallist Maddi Keeney and 2023 World Champion Cassiel Rousseau, who are coming off successful campaigns at the 2025 World Aquatics World Cup Series earlier in the year.
Keeney will take on the individual 3-metre springboard and synchronised events, including the women's synchro where she will pair up with Alysha Koloi following their incredible introduction to the world stage as a duo, winning silver and bronze at the World Cups in China and Canada earlier this year.
Rousseau will focus on the 10m platform events after taking out the individual national title at the Australian Open Championships last month.
The team includes 5 debutants to the World Championships environment with Benjamin Wilson, Ellie Cole, Jonah Mercieca, Hudson Skinner and the youngest member of the group, 15-year-old Maggie Grey joining fellow team members Georgia Sheehan, Jaxon Bowshire & Milly Puckeridge.
Across at the High Diving competition on Sentosa Island, Rhiannan Iffland will be out to win her third World Championships Title in a row after taking home the gold at Fukuoka in 2023 and Doha in 24. Fellow Aussies Xantheia Pennisi and Zach Picton round out the high diving team.
Reflecting on the 2025 Team make up, newly appointed Diving Australia Head Coach and Program Director Ady Hinchliffe said:
“The team we’ve selected for the 2025 World Championships blends an abundance of senior international experience together with exciting emerging talent, which I am looking forward to seeing perform on the one of the highest levels of the world stage.
“Singapore is a key part of our strategic plan to build the team, across both individual events and synchro combinations, towards achieving even greater success in the new Olympic cycles of LA28 and Brisbane 2032.”
The team will head to Malaysia for a pre-competition camp from Tuesday 16 July with High Diving kicking off on 24 – 27 July at the purpose built Sentosa Island High Diving Tower before the competition heads indoors from 26 July – 3 August for the springboard and platform events.
