Published Fri 23 May 2025
Maddison ‘Maddi’ Keeney, the first Australian diver to win an Olympic medal in the 3m Springboard (winning silver in Paris 2024) is the newest member of Diving Australia’s Athlete Committee.
With an extensive list of diving achievements across the past decade, including medals in the 3m individual, women’s and mixed synchro events at Commonwealth Games, World Championships, World Cups and two Olympic Games, Maddi also brings to the table a wealth of life experience as a world leading athlete who continues to juggle work life as a systems engineer in corporate world.
Maddi said she was delighted to join the committee.
“I wanted to join the committee because I can see how much of a positive impact it has had so far, and I want to be able to use my experience to also be able to do the same.”
DA Chief Executive Alex Newton: “I am delighted that someone with Maddi’s experience has decided to put their hand up for our Athlete Committee. Over the last year her contribution to amplifying ‘athlete voice’ has been impressive, and I know she will add such value to both the Committee and the wider athlete cohort in promoting winning well in all our decision making.
I am really looking forward to working with her and the Committee as we continue to amplify athlete voice in all we do.”
The DA Athlete Committee members are Emily Meaney (Chair), Cassiel Rousseau, Laura Hingston, Olivia O’Rourke, Georgia Sheehan, Ben Wilson and now Maddison Keeney.
