Position Vacant: Manager Performance Support

Published Mon 11 Mar 2024

Diving Australia (DA) is the national sporting organisation for the Olympic sports of springboard and platform diving and the newly popular sport of high diving.

DA has a strong track record of high-performance success, winning a significant number of Olympic, World Championship, Commonwealth and other international medals. Off the back of our most successful World Championships in Doha 2024, DA is now looking to build momentum as we head towards the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.

As a result, we are currently looking to recruit a ‘Manager Performance Support’.

DA has a truly national performance pathway program with strong State Institute support in five major centres, based at world-class aquatics facilities, with world class coaching and medical support systems. We strive to be the world’s leading diving nation.

About the role

As the Manager you will be responsible for developing and managing the implementation of a national approach to the delivery of performance support to ensure high quality and effective services are delivered within the daily training and competition environments.

Passionate and enthusiastic about performance support, you will work collaboratively with the DA High Performance and Pathway teams, including those based within the state institutes, to maximise the impact of science, medicine and technology by bringing it closer to coaching and performance.

Your core duties will include:

  • Oversee the delivery of performance support across the network, to ensure the effective, efficient and quality delivery of diving specific performance support services to athletes.

  • Facilitate and enable performance support staff to provide contemporary evidence-based practices to support the coaches and contribute to the implementation of practical performance solutions for optimised performance.

  • Proactively contribute to the individual performance plan process that facilitate holistic annual and quadrennial periodised plans, targeting critical benchmark events.

  • Ensure effective monitoring of individual athlete progression against both sport and individual performance criteria to ensure athletes are progressing at world class rates and gather and analyse data to drive evidenced-based decisionmaking.

  • Coordinate the medical network and oversee the effective rehabilitation of an athlete’s return to training / competition from injury/illness.

This is a fixed term full-time role, ideally based in Brisbane, offering a competitive package. The contract period is until 31 June 2025, with the potential to extend for the next cycle.
